Traditional
Chinese Medicine evaluates the flow and
balance of energy in the body and involves the use of
both Chinese herbs and acupuncture. Chinese
Medicine is very much in line with the naturopathic
philosophy of looking at the whole person - getting a
thorough understanding of the patient before prescribing
any form of treatment.
Traditional
Chinese Medicine emphasizes the importance of balance
between yin and yang. Yin and yang are equal and
opposite to each other and each possesses certain
properties. For example, Yin is moist, dark and
cold while Yang is dry, bright and hot. A
deficiency of one can lead to an excess of the other and
can cause disease.
Compared to
today's relatively short-lived drugs and treatments,
Traditional Chinese Medicine has stood the test of time
for thousands of years. |
