What drew you to chiropractic?
As a teen, I suffered from back pain for years. Many health practitioners attempted to find the underlying reason to no avail. All of them gave up eventually and some even considered it a common and normal “growing pain”. I lived with the pain for years until I saw a chiropractor who diagnosed me with scoliosis. The fact that he was diligent and was willing to consider various possibilities and solutions to my issues was very different from those other practitioners. I saw the power of chiropractic and that was how I became very interested in this field.
What do you love most about being a chiropractor?
I love the unique challenges that every patient brings to my office. My passion is to help people to do what they love to do. Having pain is never normal and no one should stop doing their favorite activities because if it.
What are your favorite conditions to treat?
I don’t think I have a favorite condition. I love to help anyone feel better and relieve pain, but I especially love to help moms during and after their pregnancies as I am new mom myself and I know that pain is the last thing you need to have in those busy times.
What do you like to do outside of your chiropractic office?
If I’m not at the wellness clinic or working on writing articles and blog posts, I am spending time with my husband and daughter. We like to go on hikes and take small trips outside Toronto. We also have small projects around the house that keep us busy.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
There are a lot of achievements that I am very grateful for and proud of. But if I must choose one, it must be a very challenging final school year at chiropractic college, and a four-way balancing act between school work, internship at the clinic, studying for board exams and preparing myself for motherhood. I’ve learned a lot about myself, my capabilities and how to take on life challenges with help from all of my support system including family, friends, teachers and colleagues.
Do you speak any languages other than English?
Yes, I’m a native speaker of Persian.
How would your friends describe you?
I think they’d describe me as caring and passionate, and someone who’s there for them when and where it counts.
