Dr. Priscilla Tang, BSc (Hons), ND, Naturopathic Doctor

To our dearest patients, we would like to inform you that Naturopathic Doctor Dr Rachel Vong will be on maternity leave starting July 16th, 2018 and will be returning on November 19th, 2018. In her place, we would like to welcome Dr Priscilla Tang who will be overseeing the care of Dr Vong’s patients during her leave. Welcome, Dr Tang!

Dr. Priscilla Tang graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science and went on to pursue her Doctor of Naturopathy degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Throughout her training, she has gained experience with pain management (e.g. headaches, low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, shoulder injuries), hormone health (e.g. diabetes, menstrual irregularities and pain), and cardiovascular health (e.g. high blood pressure), just to name a few. Her certification as a fitness instructor and experience on the Sports Medicine Specialty shift at the Robert Shad Naturopathic Clinic has developed her skills in trigger point release, optimal performance and recovery, and manual soft tissue techniques.
Dr. Tang uses a wide variety of tools (acupuncture, spinal manipulation, cupping, lifestyle and nutritional counselling, herbal medicine, etc) to individualize treatment to your body and your needs. She is a strong advocate for encompassing mental health in all definitions of health, especially with the increasing untreated effects of stress, depression, and anxiety on quality of life.
She believes that patient outcomes come first, and success comes from 1) empowering the patient to take control of their health, as well as 2) properly navigating interprofessional care with all members involved in the patient’s health. Dr. Tang believes in an “east meets west” approach to medicine, and works to combine the best of both worlds in your treatment, using modern labs and physical exams with traditional knowledge and healing. She looks forward to working with your current healthcare providers to make the most of your health and get you to your goals.
